Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested over 10,000 gang members since President Donald Trump returned to the White House, according to new data from the Department of Homeland Security.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, ICE has arrested more than 10,000 gang members,” said DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin in a statement.
He continued, “Many of these gang members were released into our country by Joe Biden. These vicious criminals murdered, assaulted, robbed, and terrorized innocent Americans for sport. Thanks to the Secure America Act, ICE is turbocharged to arrest even more gang members and criminals from American neighborhoods.”
The DHS identified the 10,000th gang member as Javier Hernandez Rosas, an alleged MS-13 member and illegal alien. He was previously convicted of cocaine possession, possession of a weapon, and abduction, the agency said.
President Donald Trump touted ICE and Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) work in securing America’s streets on Friday, writing, “It was just announced that, and I’m not necessarily thrilled to be talking about it because it does not exactly sound NICE, the Trump Administration has the Highest Average Daily Arrest Rate by ICE and CBP, including Total Detention, with Final Orders of Removal, than any other president, by far!”
In addition to the crackdown on illegal alien criminals, gang members, pedophiles, human traffickers, and drug traffickers, the Trump administration has also delivered 13 consecutive months of zero releases at the border.
DHS said that there has been a 94 percent decrease in apprehensions compared to the Biden administration years, and that there has been an increase in drug interdiction, which has stopped the deadly flow of fentanyl, cocaine, and many other dangerous drugs into the U.S.
“This milestone, coupled with historically low illegal crossings, demonstrates our unwavering commitment to securing our nation,” said CBP Commissioner Rodney S. Scott.
He added, “Our robust enforcement policies are working, and we are delivering unprecedented results in border security, drug interdiction, and trade enforcement. These sustained successes are a testament to our strategic approach and the vital support we receive, thanks to the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Mullin.”
