President Donald Trump prevented a climate agenda disaster this week by putting a pause on an international deal that would have implemented a form of United Nations-backed taxation based on greenhouse gas emissions.

The president expressed his initial displeasure with the International Maritime Organization – a body of the United Nations – in a statement on Thursday, slamming the organization for its attempt to implement a “Green New Scam” agenda.

The president wrote, “I am outraged that the International Maritime Organization is voting in London this week to pass a global Carbon Tax. The United States will NOT stand for this Global Green New Scam Tax on Shipping, and will not adhere to it in any way, shape, or form.

The vote to approve this so-called “Carbon Tax” was slated for Friday, but according to the Economic Times, it was canceled due to President Trump’s threat to sanction countries that voted for the plan.

“We will not tolerate increased prices on American Consumers OR, the creation of a Green New Scam Bureaucracy to spend YOUR money on their Green dreams,” President Trump said on Thursday.

The delay on this vote is a big win for the Trump administration and for the president.

“Thanks to his leadership, the United States prevented a massive UN tax hike on American consumers that would have funded progressive climate pet projects,” said Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

He added, “Our country will continue to lead the way and put America FIRST.”

This move from President Trump aligns with his administration’s continued push to eliminate “green” taxes and regulations from American markets. On January 20, for example, President Trump wasted no time in withdrawing the United States from the Paris Climate Accord, which he described as a “rip-off.”

“The United States will not sabotage our own industries while China pollutes with impunity,” he said.
