Fourth wave of declassified ‘UFO’ files published on DOW’s site

The Department of War on Friday published another round of so-called “Alien Files,” freshly declassified and available for viewing to the public online.

“Today, the Department of War is publishing the fourth release of declassified and historical Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) files as part of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE),” Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell said.

This follows three previous tranches of declassified government files related to UFOs, UAPs, and otherwise odd aerial phenomena. The first batch was published on May 8, 2026.

“Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters,” President Donald Trump declared in a statement published in mid-February.

The contents of the batch published on Friday include 40 different files, ranging from documents to videos. Dates on each file vary wildly, from the modern 2020s to post-World War II 1948.

A document from 1948 includes a U.S. Air Force Air Intelligence Study, for example, that studied flying object incidents in the U.S.

A video from 2024 shows a UAP over the South China Sea, captured by an infrared sensor. Another interesting file from 1974 contains correspondence from the FBI discussing the testimony of an 11-year-old child who seems to have seen a UFO. The child claimed that they heard a “weird” sound and saw a “flash of light.”

The files contained in this fourth tranche aren’t shockingly different from the first three batches. The classified documentation does not explain what the UAPs or UFOs could actually be. It merely gives Americans the opportunity to discuss and theorize.
