Federal agents released new surveillance photos Thursday of a “person of interest” tied to the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University. Authorities are intensifying their manhunt and have made several forensic breakthroughs while appealing to the public for help.

The images show a male wearing a baseball cap, dark sunglasses, a long-sleeved black shirt bearing an American flag and eagle motif, and jeans. Investigators described the individual as likely college aged, blending in with students on campus.

Law enforcement says they have recovered what looks like the murder weapon, a high powered bolt action rifle, found in a wooded area along what they believe was the suspect’s escape route. Unspent ammunition bearing “transgender and anti fascist” messages was also found, though officials caution that the significance of those inscriptions remains under active investigation.

Other physical evidence includes forearm, palm, and footwear impressions from the rooftop from which authorities believe the shot was fired.

A reward of 100,000 dollars has been offered for information leading to the identification and arrest of whoever is responsible.

Charlie Kirk was shot while speaking at a Turning Point USA event with a crowd in attendance. Authorities and political leaders have described the act as a targeted attack. The motive remains unconfirmed. Utah Governor Spencer Cox has condemned the shooting as a political assassination.

The FBI is asking the public to come forward with tips, photos, or video that might help identify or locate the subject seen in the released image.
