All-American rescue: successful retrieval of downed U.S. airmen inspires nation

The inspiring rescue of two U.S. airmen who were shot down behind enemy lines in Iran is a story of overcoming and a demonstration of U.S. military loyalty and courage

Over the weekend, the U.S. military completed a historically inspiring and daring rescue of two airmen who were shot down over enemy territory in Iran, giving hope to Americans and answering the prayers of many.

The situation seemed hopeless: an F-15E Strike Eagle, shot down in the skies of Iran, with hostile entities on the ground. As reported by LindellTV, Iranian media outlets allegedly circulated a reward for anyone who found the U.S. airmen, and as the hours ticked by, it was unclear if there were really U.S. servicemen behind enemy lines or if it was simply Iranian propaganda.

But, after initial reports surfaced that one airman had been rescued, and a confirmation that the president had been briefed on the situation, the reality became clear: this could be the first POW scenario of the war.

Thus ensued a highly complex and focused rescue operation to retrieve the one remaining airman.

Then came President Trump’s statement on Saturday night: “WE GOT HIM! My fellow Americans, over the past several hours, the United States Military pulled off one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations in U.S. History, for one of our incredible Crew Member Officers, who also happens to be a highly respected Colonel, and who I am thrilled to let you know is now SAFE and SOUND!”

The president revealed that this colonel survived in the mountains of Iran, surviving for two days, whilst American warfighters mounted a massive effort to extract him – monitoring his location and planning the rescue operation.

“At my direction, the U.S. Military sent dozens of aircraft, armed with the most lethal weapons in the World, to retrieve him,” President Trump said. “He sustained injuries, but he will be just fine. This miraculous Search and Rescue Operation comes in addition to a successful rescue of another brave Pilot, yesterday, which we did not confirm, because we did not want to jeopardize our second rescue operation.”

There were no additional casualties or injuries related to this operation, according to the president.

This historic rescue mission is the first of its kind since the era of World War II, Vietnam, and a limited incident in the 1990s that inspired the film Behind Enemy Lines.

President Trump pointed out, “This is the first time in military memory that two U.S. Pilots have been rescued, separately, deep in Enemy Territory. WE WILL NEVER LEAVE AN AMERICAN WARFIGHTER BEHIND!”

According to CBS, the yet-unnamed American Air Force Colonel survived for almost two days in the craggy rocky heights of Iranian terrain, before being rescued during daylight hours – a truly remarkable feat.

President Donald Trump was not seen for several days during the rescue operation, but he is expected to brief the press on Monday during a special briefing at the White House, where he will likely offer additional insight into the operation, as well as the current progress in the war against Iran.
