Missouri Statute 115.639 allows an employee to take 3 hours off work on election day in order to vote. An employer must allow employees to take this time and cannot discharge or penalize the employee because of it. But, there are some specifics as to when and how this is allowed.

We provide some suggestions about this statute and how to work with your employer to make arrangements to leave work to vote. Check out our video on how to look up statutes on the state's website. It's important to do your own research on this topic and not rely on our advice. Of course, it's always best to seek qualified legal advice if you have any questions.
