Illegals are voting. Some states encourage it.” – Scalise backs expanded SAVE Act

LindellTV’s @Alisonintheknow pressed House Majority Leader @SteveScalise on the “Turbocharged” SAVE Act and why the Senate still hasn’t acted. “The SAVE Act we passed strictly requires proof of citizenship to vote. We know there are illegals voting in a number of states – frankly, some states like California encourage it.” Scalise also revealed House Republicans are adding a national photo ID requirement: “Some states allow same-day voter registration and ban photo ID. That’s a recipe for fraud. Somebody can register as ‘Mickey Mouse’ and vote.” The new bill combines the SAVE Act with voter ID and Scalise says it’s ready to go to the Senate. “We’re going to send over an even stronger measure. Let’s see if they’ll vote on it.”
